Day 10, Saturday 12 October
Anti-Climax…….. After the excursion yesterday, today is bound to be a anti-climax and we don’t even leave the room until after midday. It’s a day when many things are ruled out but little ruled in as we take a walk out towards the Open Air Museum this time. Now outside the town there are good views across to Rose Valley and still plenty of options for activity. More trails lead into the mountains but we decide against another long walk and simply take lunch within sight of those magnificent views. Just a little further on is the entrance to the Open Air Museum. It was walkable after all.

Returning to the room, it seems a bit of a waste of a day, so far from home but it was up to Katoon to call the shots. Of course, I tried to imagine what our stay in Cappadocia would be like but assumed Katoon would be more active considering the options but under the circumstances we could easily have spent one or even two less days here. Well, the only thing left now is to head out again and see if we can be enticed to part with some money at the souvenir shops. Taking something back to the room to eat, I can pause and reflect on how I might have done things differently but I’m glad I came. Göreme is still an amazing place. Tomorrow we embark on that massive journey back to Istanbul which will take all day. Next Page.
