WELCOME TO UNSEENinTHAILAND
5 DAY TOUR To TRAT (23O) - 5th to 9th November 2023
Conclusion

The tour to Trat (23O) becomes the last longer tour of 2023, a most successful one yielding a huge amount of data. However, the Trat tour is a reminder to me that options going forward may be limited. There are just the three most southern Thai provinces left to visit and my health is not at its best. I now must return to the UK and take a pause and work out what remains to be done on my return after Christmas. 2024 is expected to bring a change of emphasis after 13 years of exploring Thailand.
During the tour there were no issues to report apart from dodging the odd thunderstorm and mainland Trat was effectively covered in three days in line with other provinces but as always there are gaps. The more inaccessible and expensive islands of Koh Kood and Koh Mak have yet to be visited but November is not the best time to go.
Looking back, I regret cutting corners with accommodation. The fuel we used was not great and food in the province quite cheap. It's a pointer as to what our trips might look like in the future now that the pressure is off.
