The provinces of Phrae and Uttaradit were used as stopovers so coverage of these on this tour is minimal. The information given here merely identifies location. Both provinces have had some coverage on previous tours.
There was a break in Phayao on the outward journey and a couple of hours in Phitsanulok on the return and there is enough potential interest to add these to future tours


Phrae: Phrae is one of the northern provinces (changwat) of Thailand. Neighbouring provinces are (from north clockwise) Phayao, Nan, Uttaradit, Sukhothai, and Lampang

Phayao: Phayao is one of the northern provinces (changwat) of Thailand. Neighbouring provinces are (from east clockwise) Nan, Phrae, Lampang, and Chiang Rai. In the northeast it borders Xaignabouli of Laos

Uttaradit: Uttaradit is one of the northern provinces (changwat) of Thailand. Neighbouring provinces are (from south clockwise) Phitsanulok, Sukhothai, Phrae and Nan. To the east it borders Xaignabouli of Laos. Uttaradit is 488 km north of Bangkok, and 238 km southeast of Chiang Mai

Phitsanulok: Phitsanulok, one of Thailand's seventy-six provinces, lies in upper central Thailand, borders Sukhothai and Uttaradit in the north, Loei and Phetchabun in the east, and Phichit and Kamphaeng Phet to the south. In the northeast borders Laos. The name 'Phitsanulok' means 'Vishnu's heaven' showing it's Hindu origin
