Krasae Bridge and Railway Station,
Sai Yok District, Kanchanaburi Province

The Krasae Bridge which extends beyond the Tham Krasae Railway Station is a section of the railway line between Kanchanaburi and Nam Tok known as the Death Railway. It is not a bridge as such as it does not span the river or any other feature but it is a wooden structure supporting the railway line out from the rock face. It was built in by the Japanese using forced labour during WW2 in a particularly scenic position in difficult terrain above the river out of necessity. The section of railway line here attracts tourists who come for the amazing views and the historical significance.
Note: While not covered on this occasion, the next station is Tham Krasae. Here tourists can leaved the train an explore the Krasae Cave system.
