The Göreme to Uçhisar Trail begins in the valley to the west of Göreme, initially a gentle walk along a well-made tree lined path used to by locals to access crops which includes vines. The path winds its way hemmed in by more rock shelters and the picturesque sides of the gorge passing through tunnels in the rock. However, at about half way there begins a climb out of the valley to the rim where relief is available in the form of the Caglar Tea Garden. From the café the path splits with another trail leading to Pigeon Valley to the south, while the main trail continues into Uçhisar. The main trail takes about an hour to walk.
