Wat Koei Chai Nuea, Chum Saeng District, Nakhon Sawan Province

This location is the confluence of two river systems, the Yom which originates in the Dan Lao Mountain Range in Phayao Province and the Nan which originates in the Luang Prabang Mountain Range in Nan Province. The two rivers join in Koei Chai Sub-district, Chum Saeng District at Wat Koei Chai Nuea.
The rivers have different characteristics namely their colours. The Nan River has a red muddy colouration due to its flow through areas of soil and mud whereas the Yom River flows through areas of sand and stone creating a clear greenish colour. Where the rivers join there is an interesting mozaic of colour as the waters merge together. Both rivers are considered an artery and lifeline for people living along their banks.
