Khiri Rat Nikhom is a railway terminal on a branch line from Surat Thani. There is just one train a day to and from this station, a down train departing at 06.00 and an up train departing from Surat Thani at 16.55. The journey takes an hour. The track condition here is excellent having recently been upgraded. It is understood that eventually, this line will connect with Phuket, allowing the first ever service to run from Bangkok.
