Chainat Muni National Museum, Chainat

The Chainat Muni National Museum is a archaeological museum located in the temple grounds of Wat Phra Borommathat Worawihan. It is located in a Thai style two-story building. The exhibits are labelled in English as well as Thai as you would expect in a national museum. The exhibits are classified into four main time periods; Prehistoric, Davaravati, Sukothai and Ayutthaya and Ratanakosin. There is also a regional classification mainly Lopburi, Lanna and Srivijaya (central, northern, southern). For a small museum there are exhibits from each of these time periods and regions especially a fine collection of votive tablets of great historic interest.
