Kuala Lumpur has an extensive transport network including by road rail and air although curiously KL International Airport is a long way south of the city. In the city there is a good service by bus, metro and monorail. The best option for accommodation is to be near one of the main hubs e.g. Plaza Rakyat for Chinatown. For those with limited time unable to stay long at any one location, the Hop-on, Hop-off bus service is excellent and cheap. For this service it’s best to choose accommodation near one of the stops e.g. Jalan Sultan in Chinatown.
