Bangkrachao Island, Samut Prakan Province

Bangkrachao Island is a man-made island created out of a an almost complete circular bend in the lower Chao Phraya River. It is an oasis right in the heart of Bangkok, visible from the rooftops of many inner-city buildings, yet little known to so many travellers.
It is commonly called the Lungs of Bangkok due to the number of trees which eat up the city’s pollution. In a rapidly developing city, this is one place where time stands still.
