Wat Bang Thong is located next to the Buddhist temple Wat Maha That Wachiramongkol. On the day of the visit it was still under construction. However, nearly 3 years on, Wat Bang Thong is essentially complete and there's little doubt what it represents. The whole complex is a masterpiece of Thai religious architecture but the pagoda on a square base forms a beautifully ornate tapered spire modelled on Chedi Phuttakaya in India. This pagoda represents the snake in the Thai Zodiac.
