Koh Panyee, City District, Phang Nga Province

Koh Panyee is an island at the mouth of the Panyee River in Phang Nga Province that supports a fishing village, notable for being built on stilts around the island by Indonesian fishermen. The population consists of 360 families or 1,685 people descended from two seafaring Muslim families from Java. The village has a school and even a football pitch. It is normally reached by boat from Tha Dan Pier on the mainland and is a stopping off point for those visiting Ao Phang Nga National Park.
