Wat Sawankhuha is a Buddhist temple with an extensive cave system with several large caverns, the first containing a large reclining Buddha image. This is one of the iconic temples visited on a temple tour that can be arranged from Khao Lak. Apart from the spiritual significance the cave itself is a natural treasure. The cave walls glisten and sparkle with a bewildering array of colour caused by mineral secretions. The status of this temple is clear from the succession of Royal visitors who have made it here and left their monograms. This is a must visit site.
