Game On..... The game between Buriram United v Uthai Thani FC kicks off at 7.00 pm at the impressive Thunder Castle Stadium. At this point Buriram lie first in the TPL table while Uthai Thani are fourth. Buriram's record over the years is incredible. They have won the last three league titles and in great shape to win a fourth. The Thunder Castle Stadium is impressive and a model for the other teams to aspire to. They are easily the best supported and can pack out stadiums all over Thailand. As for Uthai Thani, they are comparative minnows currently punching well above their weight displacing some big hitting teams in the process. As for the matchup though, Buriram bow to no one and the best Uthai can do today is keep the score respectable.
As the game kicks off Buriram are straight into the action, their slick passing running rings around the Uthai defence, yet somehow it's still goalless on 30 minutes. Five minutes later though Brazilian Lucas Crispim receives a long ball on the right, riding a defenders challenge. He now heads for goal as the keeper comes racing out, but the midfielder's trickery beats the keeper too. The angle for a shot is tight though, and he takes the better option of squaring the ball finding his compatriot, centre forward Guilherme Bissoli who cannot miss. Bissoli has been a thorn in Uthai Thani's side so far with his great ball control running at the defence. Clearly with a greater budget, Buriram can afford to pay the wages of these foreign players. The half ends with no further score, and you are left wondering how many goals will the home team score in the second half.
Into the second half the tempo drops a bit, but you sense another onslaught coming. it duly arrives, and it's almost comical as the Buriram keeper watches on from the centre circle but Uthai are holding on by their fingertips. Surely they can't go through this half without conceding, but somehow they do, by throwing their bodies on the line. It's a great effort by them who have faced their biggest challenge of the season. Buriram get their three points to extend their lead while Uthai Thani hold position for now. They look good for a top-half position at the end of the season.
