The area around Khiriwong Village is noted for the abundance and variety of tropical fruit, some hard to grow in other regions of Thailand. The village also serves as a base canp for those who wish to go trekking to the summit of Khao Luang. Here you can employ the services of porters and guides.
On a more somber note, 100 houses were swept away here in the great flood of November 1988.
