Uthokwapat Prasit Watergate, Pak Phanang District,
Nakhon Si Thammarat Province

The Uthokwapat Prasit Watergate or Pak Phanang Watergate is an esaential part of a Royal Project initiated by the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej (Rama IX). The project allows control of the tidal estuary of the Pak Phanong River, improving irrigation and supply of fresh water and at the same time reduce flooding of low lying areas which have been so devastating in the past. A further advantage is that the area around the watergate is tastefully landscaped including a nature trail for recreational purposes.
