Cape Talumphuk, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province

The coast of Pak Phanang is a long beach with the Talumphuk cape to the north jutting out into the Gulf of Thailand like a crescent moon. Some villages are located on the part that is connected to Nakhon Si Thammarat Bay, while the gulf coast has a beautiful, pine-lined beach. Both sites were hit hard by a severe storm in 1962. The storm created a 6.8-meter wave that hit the shore leading to the loss of 1,300 lives. Today, the surrounding area is fully rehabilitated and become a famous attraction in the province.
