It's been a week since I was discharged from Pak Chong Nana Hospital when the threat of a ruined festive season was lifted. Since then, it's not been plain sailing since my legs are still swollen, causing some discomfort, but they are not infected. It's not enough to ruin Christmas or the New Year, hopefully.
Today we embark on another 10-day tour, and I intend to be quite relaxed about it, despite the distances involved. We are heading north, and initially there is some business to take care of.
We manage to leave before 10.00 AM, fill up the tank, and head away from the city. The route is quite straightforward, using the Kanchanapisek Tollway, then HWY 35, and later HWY 1. We take lunch at a roadside restaurant in Singburi province. An hour later we're heading towards the city of Nakhon Sawan, but our destination today is outside the city in Khok Phra district, where we arrange to meet with the construction company boss. It's business from now on as we try to finalize building plans.
By 3.00 AM there is a break for us to be shown our accommodation 10 minutes away in Mueang district, which is free. We arrive at a row of single-story houses not especially appealing, but inside they have renovated the house to a good standard. There is a good-sized living area, bathroom, and bedroom completed with the attention to detail you would expect from a good construction company. It gives us time to look around and extract ideas for our future project.
With further discussions due later, we need a dinner and some supplies, but it's at least 10 minutes to the market we're directed to near the city. We arrive at Suankhobfan Market and find everything we need to take back to the room, including something for breakfast. We arrive back as it's getting dark, and our discussions are set to continue as the architect arrives. Well over an hour later, he leaves armed with as much detail as we can give him to produce a bungalow plan for consideration. We will now have to wait, but there is a chance that we can get the plan submitted to the sub-district administration office for registration within a month.
Meanwhile, our dinner has gone cold, but I can live with that. What is harder is the lack of hot water for a shower. Well, we still can't expect 5-star for just a courtesy room.
